City of Lights is a 'Stay to Play' event
The Showcase in the City of Lights in Las Vegas is a unique opportunity for athletes and college coaches from around the country to integrate into one location and receive instruction from a variety of collegiate sources. 2024 marked the 18th year for the Showcase in the City of Lights Team Showcase. Majestic Park is the only facility used for this event, creating an intimate atmosphere between college coaches and teams participating in the event. Available room is limited to 55 teams for this event due to the Individual Showcase Camp and using ONLY Majestic Park. In 2023, the event sold out August 1st, almost 2 1/2 months prior to the entry deadline. Please plan accordingly and guarantee your spot for 2023 with registration and payment as soon as possible. There is NO CONFLICT between the Team Event and Individual Showcase Camp!
Event Format: Each team will participate in 5 OPEN SUBSTITUTION GAMES Friday, October 27, 2023 starting at 3:00pm as the Individual Showcase Camp Showcase Games/Skills & Drills ends at 2:00pm; Saturday October 28, 2023 the Individual Showcase Camp Games/Skills & Drills are from 8:00am - 12:00pm, TEAM SHOWCASE GAMES again starting after at 1:00pm and Sunday October 30, 2023 the team showcase games will end at 12:30pm and the Open House with the college coaches will be held immediately following the completion of games on the lower pod. The Open House will continue as long as the college coaches are able to stay.
Triple Crown will not be connecting individual athletes with college coaches at this event. We simply rotate coaches to allow all coaches to view the games in an environment with all athletes and provide general information to athletes, parents and club coaches.
There will be NO SCORES kept during the event. 1 hour and 20 minute drop dead games and no substitution restrictions. There will be a 5 run per half inning to ensure each team will be able to bat during the 40 minutes a group of college coaches will be at that field during their rotations. Although there will be 2 umpires on each field this is to help control the game for the time and keep all parties on the field safe. College coaches will work the event behind the backstops, on-field or in-dugout and is designed to be flexible for instruction style for each college coach working the event and will be rotating fields every 40 minutes. Please remember with the 1 hour 20 minute game times, DO NOT throw the ball around the infield or huddle between batters. A Triple Crown Roster is required to be entered online. The roster goes into a handbook, which is given to ALL college coaches in attendance. College Coaches will work the team event from the backstops.
Parent Talk: A Triple Crown representative will present a short talk to help parents and players start a dialog about their future (45 minutes) this will be held Friday starting at 2:00pm however we may be use a virtual option prior to the event. All parents and players are welcome to attend whether we have an in person talk at the event or online virtual option.
